Making Your Mental, Emotional, & Relational Wellbeing A Priority

Helping You Find Solutions, Gain Clarity, and Experience Peace

Individual Counseling

Individual therapy is a joint process between a counselor and a person in a counseling session. Some of the common goals of deciding on counseling can be to inspire change or improve quality of life. Most people seek therapy for help with issues that are hard to face alone. Individual therapy is also called therapy, talk therapy, and counseling.

Couples & Family Counseling

Couples and Family therapy, helps partners or family members learn to shift out of an “fighting” or “pulling away” pattern and into a more “working together” one. This type of therapy assumes that the main problem is not what members or partners are arguing about, but rather their inability to help each other solve problems and improve their relationship in the process.

Helping You Achieve Your Goal

Unlock Your Full Self. Embrace THE NEW YOU

Some people remain in the condition they find themselves because they have given over the responsibility for shaping their destiny to others. Taking responsibility for your future belongs to you. No one should be given that sacred duty. You are too valuable to allow someone else to determine your worth. Unlocking your full-self simply means know who you are and be that no matter who else does what.

Do not wait until symptoms become severe

Do what some won't, to have what some won't

Don't seek to be right, rather seek to be whole

The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step

What Is Expected In Counseling?

Honesty. Confidentiality. Taking Responsibility.

These are just 3 words that top the list.

To get the best help possible, you must provide as much information as possible. You can only speak for yourself even when you think you know what someone else might say or do.

Because you are the expert on your life, what a therapist thinks you should do, is not the issue. With a counselor’s guidance through effective questioning, you will discover what is best for you and/or your relationships.

Bottom-line, you are expected to do the work with the therapist’s help.

Some benefits of counseling:

EXPERIENCE BETTER RELATIONSHIPS

Learning to have better communication, listening to understand, and acknowledging another person’s point of view, even when you may not agree, is crucial to experiencing better relationships.

HAVE GREATER SELF-ACCEPTANCE AND SELF-ESTEEM

Feeling good about yourself is a necessary part of your journey to wholeness. It gives you more confidence in how you interact with others. Knowing and believing that you are someone of worth and value, becomes a game-changer.

BETTER EXPRESSION AND MANAGEMENT OF EMOTIONS, INCLUDING ANGER.

Becoming more self-awarene, you’ll be able to accurately identify, recognize and understand your emotions. Using this awareness, you’ll discover ways to manage your emotions so they don’t manage you.

RELIEF FROM DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, OR OTHER MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS

Most people use the word relief to describe what they feel after experiencing an effective therapy session. This is vitaly important. If these moods are allowed to go unchecked, they could lead to unhealthy outcomes.

IMPROVE COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Most relational problems have some form of poor communication. This is one of the most frequent mentioned problem within relationships. The statement, “we just can’t communicate” is mentioned over and over as the reason for therapy. Being able to find better ways to communicate is a game-changer.

About Me

Making your overall well-being is my number one priority.

Having worked with over 5000 clients in family, individual, and group sessions, I’ve been privileged to assist majority of these clients to achieve their goals through therapy, not to mention how much I’ve learned personally and professionally.

It wasn’t always that way.

During the early years of my practice, I didn’t have the confidence I now have. I would often wonder if I was being helpful to my clients. I felt like it was my responsibility to make sure they leave my office with the solution to their problems.

This was a huge burden for me until …

... until I realize it wasn’t about me, but all about my clients. They were the ones who were the experts on their own lives. And they were the ones who had to go back into their world and live out what was constructed in the session.

This freed me up to be more present with them and through great questions, get them their best hope outcome.

Having had counseling myself, I know the value of it. Many times it’s simply having someone help us see what we aren’t seeing, hear what we are not hearing, and understand what we aren’t, makes all the difference.

What also works for me is that I”ve been married to the same person for more than 30 years and have been blessed with two wonderful children who are now adults.

I’ve learned from a lot of mistakes I made as a parent, husband, and as a therapist. Most of these mistakes came in the form of poor communication, poor listening, and wanting a quick fix to the issues.

I’m trained as a Marriage and Family Therapist and is licensed to practice in the State of Florida.

I personally advocate for finding solutions to the problems being faced rather than trying to look for causes of the problem. Yes, it’s important to have an idea of causation, but at the end of the day, know what caused a problem doesn’t fix a problem. What fixes a problem is finding a solution and put the work in to achieve your goal.

The two approaches I use most often are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
